Learn MoreIn-depth structural breakdown of polymer extrusion and the physics of sound transmission loss in double glazing.
Traditional monolithic glass displays a major acoustic weakness: the **coincidence frequency dip**. Around 1000 Hz to 4000 Hz, glass resonant frequencies align with air-transmitted soundwaves, causing a drastic drop in noise insulation performance. Custom soundproof laminated glass circumvents this structural vulnerability by integrating an engineered polymer core—primarily **PVB (Polyvinyl Butyral)**, **SGP (SentryGlas Plus)**, or specialized **EVA (Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate)**.
By using multi-layer co-extrusion technology, we sandwich a soft, highly elastic acoustic core layer between two standard polymer skins. This creates a multi-density barrier that absorbs and shear-deforms acoustic waves, translating vibrational energy into negligible thermal energy. Consequently, the acoustic damping coefficient (Loss Factor η) increases dramatically, providing a peaceful indoor environment.
"Optimized acoustic damping is no longer a luxury—it is a critical compliance threshold for LEED-certified sustainable building designs and Tier-1 automotive noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) specifications."

GWELL's custom soundproof laminated glass extrusion line integrates a specialized multi-layer co-extrusion feedblock, precision gravimetric raw material feeding systems, and specialized twin-screw extruders. The thermo-plastic polymers are processed under precise heat maps to prevent polymer degradation and maintain optical purity.
Equipped with closed-loop automatic T-Dies and beta-ray thickness monitors to guarantee uniform optical quality and consistent sound insulation.
Tension-controlled winding systems ensure no residual stress inside the PVB/SGP film rolls, preventing shrinkage and visual distortion after lamination.
Siemens S7 PLC automation coordinates melt pumps, extruders, chill rolls, and thickness gauges seamlessly to minimize raw material waste.
By leveraging China's advanced industrial matrix, GWELL integrates components from global leaders (Siemens motors, Jwell screw designs, Maag melt pumps) with localized high-accuracy structural steel fabrication and assembly. This optimization offers global buyers a cost-competitive edge (saving up to 30-40% CAPEX compared to European machinery OEM suppliers) without sacrificing precision, processing speed, or energy efficiency.

Standard PVB film is a monolayer sheet optimized primarily for structural adhesion, impact absorption, and glass retention post-breakage. Acoustic PVB, however, is a co-extruded multi-layer film (usually 3 layers). The central core layer is a softer, highly viscous damping polymer designed specifically to convert acoustic energy (shear waves) into friction heat, bypassing the coincidence resonance dip of monolithic glass sheets.
We combine an automatic T-Die system with non-contact beta-ray or infrared thickness scanners. The scanners continuously monitor the film thickness post-cooling and feed the profile data back to the T-Die's thermal expansion bolts. These bolts automatically heat or cool to adjust the die gap in real-time, correcting any micro-deviations immediately.
All GWELL extrusion machinery is constructed in strict compliance with CE safety standards (under Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC). For clients in North America, we construct electrical cabinets using UL-listed components and comply with NFPA 79 specifications to ensure rapid local safety certification inspections.
Our extruders use dynamic, high-shear, low-temperature screw designs that prevent local polymer overheating. Additionally, we integrate automatic hydraulic continuous screen changers and high-precision melt pumps to filter out any carbonized particles, ensuring optical-grade film output suitable for high-end automotive windshields.
GWELL provides comprehensive localization support. We dispatch veteran commissioning engineers to your factory site for machinery assembly, electrical wiring verification, process tuning, and operator training. Remote diagnostics systems are also pre-installed, allowing our software engineers in China to troubleshoot PLC programs in real-time if necessary.
