Hungary has solidified its position as one of Central and Eastern Europe's preeminent logistics and automotive manufacturing corridors. Located at the intersection of major European trade routes (Pan-European Corridors IV, V, and X), the country hosts massive distribution centers, automotive assembly complexes, and chemical production hubs. Consequently, the regional consumption of high-grade stretch wrapping films has reached unprecedented levels.
For manufacturers looking to set up domestic production facilities within Hungary, deploying advanced stretch film extrusion lines is not just a localized investment but a gateway to supplying the broader European single market. Our solutions provide these processors with the capability to output high-performance cast films directly within Hungarian free trade zones, cutting transportation times and operational overheads to Germany, Austria, Poland, and Romania.
Modern packaging operations in Europe are governed by strict sustainability directives. With the implementation of the European Union's plastic packaging levy and the upcoming Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), stretch film producers in Hungary are under heavy pressure to reduce virgin polymer usage. The market demands two primary innovations: down-gauging (producing thinner films with higher load retention) and incorporating high percentages of Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) resin.
Gwell's high-tech co-extrusion technology addresses these requirements head-on. Our multi-layer extrusion systems (3, 5, 7, and 9 layers) enable precise raw material distribution, allowing factories to sandwich lower-cost PCR materials or highly optimized elastomers in the core layers while maintaining premium sealability and puncture resistance on the outer skins.
Explore our classified high-precision manufacturing segments, engineered for diverse polymer applications.
Unlocking extreme down-gauging and high-speed stability through advanced thermal and structural design.
The core of any high-quality stretch film line lies in its co-extrusion feedblock and die system. Gwell integrates state-of-the-art automatic dies equipped with thermal expansion bolts linked to online thickness scanners. This closed-loop system continually measures film gauge in real-time, executing micro-adjustments to the die lip gap within seconds. Consequently, thickness variation is kept below ±1.5%, minimizing weak spots that lead to film tearing on automated high-speed orbital wrapping machines.
Additionally, our feedblock designs are optimized through extensive fluid dynamics software (CFD) to ensure laminar melt flow profiles even when co-extruding polymers with wildly differing rheological behaviors—such as mLLDPE skin layers, recycled cores, and tackifier-dense middle layers.
To process materials like metallocene LLDPE efficiently without causing polymer degradation, Gwell employs high-performance single-screw extruders featuring optimized L/D ratios of 30:1 up to 33:1. Outfitted with bimetallic barrels and special mixing screws, these extruders deliver excellent thermal homogenization at low melt temperatures. This configuration reduces energy consumption per kg of produced film and preserves the physical properties of expensive co-polymers, guaranteeing consistent film stretchability up to 350% or 400%.

Every extrusion line shipped to Hungary is strictly built to comply with European safety and electrical standards. This includes full alignment with EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 2014/30/EU. All electric components—including AC variable-speed drives, temperature controllers, and contactors—utilize globally recognized brands such as Siemens, Schneider, and Omron to ensure parts can be easily sourced locally in Hungary for maintenance.
Additionally, sound enclosure systems, safety guard gates with physical limit switches, and localized emergency stop switches are strategically integrated to safeguard operators on factory floors.
To reduce setup times, Gwell deploys dedicated commissioning engineers to Hungary to manage mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, and startup extrusion trials. We don't consider a line delivered until it runs continuously at its target output and thickness parameters using the client's localized material formulations.
Every line is also equipped with a secure remote communication module. In the event of a system alarm or software issue, our senior program control engineers can log in remotely via our secure diagnostic gateway to assist local maintenance staff with real-time solutions.
Verified international quality systems and standard safety certificates.
